Unlike most USA Basketball teams, there are no trials held for the USA 3x3 U18 World Championship squads, each of which will be made up of four athletes who are 18 years old or younger (born on or before Jan. 1, 1997).

If you were building your roster for a 3x3 Basketball Tournament, would you want a lock-down defender or one of the game's best shooters?

In 2015 USA Basketball will field four men’s teams for international events. In the traditional full-court, 5-on-5 game, USA Basketball will field 12-member teams for the FIBA U19 World Championship, FIBA Americas U16 Championship and Pan American Games. In 3x3 action, USA Basketball will host a pair of 3x3 national tournaments and send four-member teams to the FIBA 3x3 U18 World Championships. Katie Lou Samuelson has enjoyed quite an illustrious basketball career, and the Huntington Beach, California, native hasn't even graduated high school yet. Samuelson, a senior at Mater Dei High School, has already won four gold medals with USA Basketball, including two in 2014 -- first as a member of the 2014 U17 World Championship Team and then with the 3x3 team that took gold at the Youth Olympic Games. Samuelson, who is committed to play for the University of Connecticut next fall, talks about her USA Basketball experience and what drives her to succeed.
