Headlined by 6-foot-3 forward A’ja Wilson (South Carolina/Hopkins, S.C.), one of the youngest members of the 2013 USA U19 World Championship Team and MVP of the 2014 FIBA Americas U18 Championship, eight gold medalists were named to the 2015 USA Basketball Women’s U19 World Championship Team.

Following three days of trials that featured 51 athletes at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the 12-member roster for the 2015 U.S. Pan American Women’s Basketball Team today was announced and features seven players who have won at least one gold medal with USA Basketball.

It’s not everyday that young, aspiring athletes are able to benefit from the knowledge of an Olympian, let alone four of them. However, during this weekend’s trials, four Olympians were among the coaching staffs and committee.

After five trials sessions, the USA U19 athletes are playing the waiting game; Asia Durr makes a big sacrifice; the competition gets tougher for Lauren Cox; and Destiny Slocum takes advantage of her opportunity.
