Headlined by 6-foot-3 forward A’ja Wilson (South Carolina/Hopkins, S.C.), one of the youngest members of the 2013 USA U19 World Championship Team and MVP of the 2014 FIBA Americas U18 Championship, eight gold medalists were named to the 2015 USA Basketball Women’s U19 World Championship Team.

It’s not everyday that young, aspiring athletes are able to benefit from the knowledge of an Olympian, let alone four of them. However, during this weekend’s trials, four Olympians were among the coaching staffs and committee.

After five trials sessions, the USA U19 athletes are playing the waiting game; Asia Durr makes a big sacrifice; the competition gets tougher for Lauren Cox; and Destiny Slocum takes advantage of her opportunity.

Six members of the 2014 USA Basketball Women's U18 National Team returned this weekend to try out for the 2015 USA U19 World Championship Team. After qualifying the USA for the 2015 U19s, these athletes want to finish what they started and compete for gold in Russia.

After assisting the 2014 USA Men’s U18 National Team to a dominating run through the FIBA Americas U18 Championship, USA Basketball today announced Sean Miller has been selected head coach of the 2015 USA Men’s U19 World Championship Team. Providence College head mentor Ed Cooley again will serve as an assistant coach, and USA Basketball also announced that Archie Miller would join the U19 coaching staff as an assistant coach.
