3x3 Basketball: Host a Qualifier

How To Host A Qualifier

The application process to host a 2018-19 National Championships Qualifier Event is officially closed.

If you are interested in applying to host a national qualifier leading into the 2020 National Championships, please refer to the below process.

STEP 1: Complete and Submit the USA Basketball 3x3 National Qualifier Application
  • To obtain more information including FIBA divisions of play, age requirements, approval process and criteria, please call 719-590-4800.

STEP 2: All applications are reviewed by USA Basketball.

STEP 3: Once your application has been reviewed, USA Basketball may contact you to schedule an event overview call.

STEP 4: If your application is approved, USA Basketball will send an invoice and an approval form.

  • The invoice includes a $250 placeholder fee per division. The placeholder fee is 100 percent refundable after the event/division representative competes in the National Championships.
  • The approval form includes final event details and the Event Maker link. (Prior to completing the approval form, the event must first be created on FIBA's Event Maker.)

STEP 5: Once the invoice has been paid and the approval form is completed, the event is formally recognized as a national qualifier and is placed on the USA Basketball website.

STEP 6: Ensure all participating players in the qualifier event have created and confirmed 3x3 player profiles. Profiles are created here: play.fiba3x3.com

  • To be deemed a USA Basketball 3x3 National Championships Qualifier, all participating players must have confirmed profiles prior to the qualifier event. Qualifier events with unconfirmed player profiles risk losing qualification status and the placeholder fee.

STEP 7: Enter tournament results and required information into the Event Maker and validate the event within 48 hours of completion.

  • The USA Basketball 3x3 National Championships bid is contingent on FIBA declaring the event as official. Qualifier events that are not declared official will risk losing qualification status and the placeholder fee.
