Joining USA Basketball as director of finance on April 30, 1999, Brent Baumberger currently serves as the chief financial officer.
Baumberger is responsible for directing USA Basketball's financial matters. This includes administering the organizations long and short term financial planning, supervising internal and external audits, preparing and monitoring USA Basketball's annual budget, administering U.S. Olympic Committee funding and related compliance programs and monitoring regulations related to non-profit status.
Baumberger, a certified public accountant and member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, brought impressive credentials to USA Basketball. From July 1997 through April 1999, Baumberger served as a Senior Accountant at Gateway Country Stores in North Sioux City, South Dakota. His responsibilities included monitoring general ledger activity and financial reporting for approximately 150 stores, developing and organizing Gateway's 1999 financial budget totaling over $3 billion in revenues and performing day to day management activities for Gateway's accounting department.
Prior to his stint with Gateway, Baumberger spent four years with Stockman, Kast, Ryan & Scruggs in Colorado Springs, Colo. As a Senior Accountant for accounting and auditing services, Baumberger was responsible for planning and managing the financial audits of publicly traded, privately held and not for profit entities, supervising and training staff accountants and evaluating and testing systems of internal control. While working as a senior auditor for Deloitte & Touche, Baumberger also worked on the financial statement audits of USA Basketball from 1993-1997.
Baumberger graduated from the University of South Dakota in May 1993, with a bachelor's degree in business administration.
Baumberger and his wife Misti reside in Colorado Springs with their three children.
