Geno Auriemma, who has won two Olympic golds and two Women's World Championships as a head coach of the USA Women's National Team, is one of many recent USA Basketball coaches who are taking teams into the men's and women's NCAA Tournaments that begin this week. Auriemma, who has won nine NCAA titles with the University of Connecticut, is seeking a third consecutive title.
Mike Krzyzewski, who has won four gold medals since taking over as head coach of the USA Men's National Team in 2005, has won four national titles with Duke. The Blue Devils enter this year's NCAA Tournament as the No. 1 seed in the South region.
Villanova head coach Jay Wright helped USA Basketball capture gold as head coach at the 2005 World University Games. Wright's Villanova squad is the No. 1 seed in the East region.
Doug Bruno, who has been involved with USA Basketball since 2006, was an assistant coach with the 2014 USA Women's World Championship Team. Bruno is the head coach of DePaul, which opens the women's NCAA Tournament Friday against Minnesota.
University of South Carolina head coach Dawn Staley won two gold medals with USA Basketball in 2014 -- first as head coach of the U18 National Team and then as an assistant with the World Championship Team. Her Gamecocks enter the NCAA Tournament as a No. 1 seed.
Providence College head coach Ed Cooley was an assistant coach for the 2014 USA Men’s U18 National Team that went on to capture the gold medal at the 2014 FIBA Americas U18 Championship. Cooley and Providence enter the NCAA Tournament as the No. 6 seed in the East region.
University of Arizona head coach Sean Miller has won gold with USA Basketball as both a player and coach, most recently as an assistant coach for the 2014 USA Basketball Men’s U18 National Team. Miller's Arizona Wildcats enter the tournament as the No. 2 seed in the West region.

Making his first appearance on a USA bench in 1979, Hall of Fame basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski manned the sidelines for the United States off and on for 38 years and in the 15 international competitions Krzyzewski has been involved in as a USA head or assistant coach, those teams have captured 11 gold medals, two silver medals and two bronze medals.
With Geno Auriemma on the sidelines, USA teams have won seven gold medals.
