Shop NowOn Nov. 20-21, four USA Basketball Women's National Team members took part in the NBC Olympics shoot, filming various promos, conducting interviews and other various bits of pre-Olympics coverage. USA Basketball was behind the scenes to give you a glimpse of the action, including this shot of Candace Parker and Sue Bird proudly displaying their 2012 Olympic gold medals.
Before the day could begin, everyone went through hair and makeup, including Sue Bird and Candace Parker.
Candace Parker strikes a pose on the Copacabana set.
What was asked of Sue Bird the most during the day? If she could spin a basketball on her finger. She always obliged.
Did you know there are a lot of details that go into a set such as this, including upwards of 50 photographers, videographers, production assistants and stage hands, to name a few? Maya Moore does!
Fancy a game of 3x3 on the Copacabana beach with Maya Moore anyone?
Diana Taurasi is hoping to win her fourth Olympic gold medal next summer in Rio.
Maya Moore took advantage of a break, and some props, to step in the Rio photo booth. Here she's seen mimicking two of the four emojis available.
A couple more emojis for Maya Moore before she heads to her next sound stage.
2012 Paralympic silver medalist Archer Matt Stutzman, a 2012 Paralympic silver medalist, showed off his hoops moves to Candace Parker. Make sure to check out this video to see some of Stutzman's hoops skills - including and over-the-backboard and behind the back banked shot. WATCH
On the set of Buzzfeed, world traveler Diana Taurasi was asked to give a history of her life around the globe. Starting with Italy (where her father was born) to Argentina (where her father moved and her mother is from), hometown Chino (California), then Connecticut, Phoenix, Athens, Beijing, Istanbul, Moscow, Ekaterinburg, London ... and more!
It wasn't all fun and games. There were some more serious interviews throughout the day, including this one Maya Moore conducted with the U.S. Olympic Committee's digital team.
Um ... what does a giant panda head have to do with basketball? Buzzfeed had Maya Moore put it on and attempt a free throw (blinded by the mask). Think she made it? You'll have to wait for the show to air next summer to find out!
Fun fact of the day: Candace Parker is a really good juggler.
It's the Maya-Maya show! 2016 Olympic hopeful swimmer Maya DiRado and Maya Moore used some of the photo booth props before posing for a shot together.
In one of the funniest moments of the day, athletes were surprised by Brazilian Samba dancers. Diana Taurasi played along and danced with almost perfect Samba moves of her own.
Candace Parker also joined in on the fun of the surprise Samba dancers.
Presented with a myriad of costume options, athletes were tasked with dressing up for their 'senior class picture.'
Sue Bird opted for some kind of rocker look, tapping into her inner Joan Jett.
Maya Moore or Urkel's sister? You decide.
No. Definitely not Urkel's sister with that bit of sass. Anyone care to guess what or who Maya Moore was dressed as for her class picture?
Candace Parker is musically inclined and opted to dress up as a member of the band.
When asked if she was going to join and Stanford's 'Nerd Nation,' made famous by Chiney and Nneka Ogwumike, Candace Parker promptly replied that she had her own smaller version of Nerd Nation at Tennessee.
The bookish rock 'n roll chick.
Rock on, Diana Taurasi!
In the 'most adorable props' category were three puppies, who were also up for adoption. Everyone, including Sue Bird, wanted to take the puppies home.
This little pup was ready for a nap in Maya Moore's lap.
Candace Parker couldn't decide which of the three puppies to hold, but was able to narrow it down to two.
Candace Parker's second puppy choice.
Diana Taurasi and Teddy bonded quickly.
As the sun was setting on the day's events, Maya Moore and Diana Taurasi took time for a couple quick photos on the terrace.
