After leading USA Basketball teams to perfect, 5-0 records and gold medals at the 2017 FIBA Americas U16 Championships this past summer, USA head coaches Carla Berube and Don Showalter today were announced as co-recipients of the USA Basketball Developmental Coach of the Year Award.

USA Basketball announced today the 2023 USA Basketball Men’s Junior National Team coaching staffs.

Sue Phillips has been at the helm of some celebrated teams in her tenure with USA Basketball, but the 2013 Women’s U16 Junior National Team that won the FIBA Americas U16 Championship ranks among the best. Ahead of what promises to be a busy 2023, the word on Briana Weiss’ mind is joy.

The Utah teen is emerging as junior national team standout in hoops and volleyball.

Briana Weiss, assistant director for the USA Basketball Women’s National Team program since May 2019, has been promoted to USA Basketball Women’s National Team director .

Carol Callan steps away from USA Basketball after helping steer the program to a seventh-straight Olympic gold medal, five of the past six FIBA World Cup golds and countless gold medals at junior events.

The 2021 USA U16 men took down Argentina 90-75 in the gold medal game of the 2021 FIBA Americas U16 Championship.
