USA Basketball Notes

  • Honors: MVP of the 2016 FIBA Americas U18 Championship.
  • Gold Medals: 2016 FIBA Americas U18 Championship.
  • Member of the 2016 USA Men's U18 National Team that won a gold medal with a 5-0 record at the 2016 FIBA Americas U18 Championship from July 19-23 in Valdivia, Chile; the top four finish qualified the USA for the 2017 FIBA U19 World Championship; en route to being named MVP, started in all five games and averaged 13.8 ppg., 4.0 rpg. and 5.2 apg.
  • Helped the 2016 USA Junior National Select Team to a 101-67 win in the 2016 Nike Hoop Summit on April 9, 2016; scored 11 points to go with five steals, three rebounds and three assists.
  • Participated in the 2015 USA Basketball Junior National Team October minicamp.
  • Named to the 2015-16 USA Basketball Men’s Junior National Team on Sept. 15, 2015.
  • Took part in the 2015 USA Basketball Junior National Team minicamp on Oct. 3-4 at the United States Olympic Training Center.

  • 2015 and 2016 Naismith High School All-America second team.
  • 2016 USA Today All-USA second team.
  • 2016 USA Today Maryland Player of the Year.

  • 2016 McDonald’s All-American, who played for the East Team on March 30 in Chicago.
  • 2016 Jordan Brand Classic participant, scored 19 points for the winning East.
  • Named MVP of the 2015 Les Schwab Invitational after he averaged 20.3 ppg., 6.8 rpg., 4.8 apg., 3.8 spg. and 2.0 bpg. and his team finished in second place.

High School Notes

  • Attends DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland, were he  played two varsity seasons.
  • As a senior in 2015-16, averaged 19.1 ppg and 8.8 rpg. to help his team to an 31-6 record, a second straight Maryland Private Schools tournament championship and the championship game of the Alhambra Catholic Invitational Tournament.
  • Set the DeMatha season record for assists with 278 in 2015-16.
  • As a junior in 2014-15, averaged 16.5 ppg. to help his team to the a Maryland Private Schools tournament championship.
  • Played on DeMatha’s junior varsity team as a sophomore in 2013-14.
