USA Basketball Notes

  • Gold Medal:  2019 FIBA U19 World Cup. 
  • Honors:  2019 FIBA U19 World Cup All-Tournament Team.
  • Member of the 2019 USA Basketball U19 National Team that captured the gold medal with a perfect 7-0 record at the 2015 FIBA U19 World Championship in Heraklion, Greece. Played and started in all seven games, averaged a team-high 24.7 minutes, 7.9 points, 2.4 rebounds, a team-best 6.9 assists and 2.3 steals a game. Shot a team-best 68.8 percent from the field and a team-best 55.5 percent (10-18) from 3-point.
  • Recorded 21 points and 8 assists versus Lithuania, 10 points and 7 assists in win over Russia and 8 points and 8 assists versus New Zealand.
  • Played and started in the USA's two exhibition games, averaged 21.5 minutes, 3.0 points. 3.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists a game. Shot 42.9 percent from the field.
  • Named to the 2019 USA Men's U19 World Cup Team on June 20.

College Notes

  • Has completed one season at Iowa State University.
  • As a freshman in 2018-19, averaged 6.8 ppg, 3.6 apg., 3.4 rpg. and 1.5 spg. and helped lead Iowa State to the NCAA Tournament.
  • Ranked fifth in the Big 12 Conference for assists per game.
  • Led the Big 12 with a 4.5 assist-to-turnover ratio, which was the fourth-best single-season mark in school history.
  • One of four freshmen in college basketball since 1992-93 to post 125 assists, 50 steals and 30 blocks.
  • Finished season fifth on ISU freshman assist list, third in steals, tied for third in 3-pointers made (49) and fourth in 3-point field goal percentage (43.4).\
  • Ranked third nationally in offensive rating (136.8) and 15th in effective field goal percentage (66.2).
  • Dished out a school-record 17 assists and committed just one turnover against Southern.
  • Averaged 9.3 points and was 11-for-15 from field and 6-for-9 behind the arc to help Iowa State win the Big 12 Championship.
  • Twice named Big 12 Newcomer of the Week (Dec. 10, Jan. 7)

  • 2018 Wisconsin Gatorade Player of the Year.
  • 2018 Associated Press All-State first team.
  • 2018 Oshkosh Northwestern All-Area Boys Basketball Player of the Year.
  • 2018 USA Today All-USA Wisconsin Boys Basketball First-Team selection.
  • 2018 and 2017 WBCA Division I All-State first team. 
     

High School Notes

  • Attended Oshkosh North High School where he led the Spartans to a 26-1 record and a state championship in 2017-18.
  • As a senior in 2017-18, averaged 22.9 ppg., 6.2 apg., 5.1 rpg.,   3.5 spg. and 1.7 bpg.
  • Scored 30 points, including 23 in the second half, against Brookfield East in the state championship game and was 18-for-18 at the line in the finals. 
  • As a junior in 2016-17, averaged 18 ppg., 6 apg. and 5 rpg.

Personal Notes

  • Son of John and Brenda Haliburton.
  • Cousin Eddie Jones was a three-time NBA All-Star, and played 14 years in the NBA.
