USA BASKETBALL NOTES:

  • GOLD:  2013 FIBA U19 World Cup, 2012 FIBA Americas U18 Championship.
  • Named on Feb. 10, 2020, a finalist for the 2020 U.S. Olympic Men's Basketball Team.
  • Named to the USA 2013 U19 World Cup Team that compiled a 9-0 record to claim the gold medal at the FIBA U19 World Cup in Prague, Czech Republic.  Stated and played in all nine UA games, averaged 10.6 points and 3.7 rebounds a game, record a team best 10 blocked shots , and shot 57.5 percent from the field.
  • Recorded a team-high 17 points, added 4 rebounds, 4 blocked shots and made 8-of-16 field goals in 28 minutes in the gold medal game victory over Serbia.

  • Named to the USA 2012 Men’s FIBA Americas U18 Championship Team that finished 5-0 to win the gold medal in Sao Sebastiáo do Paraiso, Brazil. Played in all five games, averaged 5.4 points and 4.2 rebounds a game, while shooting 80.0 percent (12-15 FGs).

NBA HONORS:

  • Named a finalist in 2018-19 for the Kia Sixth Man of the Year Award.

NBA MILESTONES:

  • Third player in NBA history (Tommy Heinson & Billy Cunningham) to average 16.5+ points and 6.0+ rebounds in under 27 minutes a game.
  • On Dec. 23, 2018, at Golden State, reached 2,000 career points in 3,551 minutes, becoming one of nine active players to reach 2,000 points in as few minutes behind Vince Carter, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin, Kyrie Irving, Karl-Anthony Towns, Joel Embiid and Donovan Mitchell.

  • On Dec. 12, 2018 versus Denver, became one of five players since 1984-85 and the first player in Clippers history (1984-present) with 20+ points and 10 rebounds in under 20 minutes of action.

  • On Nov. 11, 2018, at Atlanta, became only player in NBA history with 25+ points, 11+ rebounds, 5+ steals and 2+ blocks as a sub.

  • In 2017-18 ranked 3rd in the NBA in field goal percentage shooting 63.5 percent.

  • Competing in 2019-20 his 5th overall NBA season, 3rd with the L.A. Clippers.
  • Through 2018-19, has played in 255 NBA regular season games, started 23 games, has compiled 4,894 minutes (19.2 mpg.), 2,864 points (11.2 ppg.), 1,126 rebounds (4.4 rpg.), 317 assists (1.2 apg.), 215 blocked shots, and has shot 62.9 percent from the field.
  • Has appeared in 13 career postseason games, has averaged 14.7 minutes, 9.1 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game, while shooting 69.6 percent from the field and 64.7 percent from the foul line.
  • Played in all 82 games and started in 5 games in 2018-19 for the L.A. Clippers, averaged career-highs of 26.3 minutes, 16.6 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. Shot 61.5 percent from the field and 64.3 percent from the foul line.

  • Traded by the Houston Rockets to the L.A. Clippers on June 28, 2017, along with Patrick Beverley, Sam Dekker, Darrun Hilliard, DeAndre Liggins, Lou Williams, Kyle Wiltjer, a conditional 2018 1st round pick in exchange for Chris Paul. 
  • Selected by the Houston Rockets in the second round, 2nd pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. 

COLLEGE NOTES:

  • Played three seasons (2012-13 2014-15) at the University of Louisville.
  • Finished his three-year career, played in 122 games, started 75 games, 1294 points (11.6 ppg.), 777 rebounds (6.9 rpg.), 102 assists and 118 blocked shots (1.1 bpg.). Shot 58.6 percent from the field and 53.3 from the foul line.
  • As a junior in 2014-15, played and started in 35 games, averaged 35.1 minutes, 15.7 points, 9.2 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 1.2 blocked shots per game, shot 56.6 percent from the field and 59.7 percent from the foul line.
  • Named 2014-15 All-AAC second team and NABC All-District 25 second team. 
  • Recipient of the inaugural Karl Malone Power Forward of the Year Award presented by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
  • Finished ranked second in the conference in rebounding as a junior.
  • As a sophomore in 2013-14, played and started in 37 games, averaged 29.3 minutes, 14.0 points, 8.4 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.3 blocked shots per game, shot 60.9 percent from the field.
  • Named 2013-14 All-AAC first team, 2014 AAC Most Improved Player and NABC All-District 25 second team. 
  • Selected 2014 AAC All-Championship Team after averaging 15.7 points and 7.0 rebounds, while shooting 63.6 percent from the floor in three games.
  • As a sophomore led the American Athletic Conference and ranked 6th nationally in field goal percentage (.609).
  • As a freshman in 2012-13, played in 40 games, started in 3 games, averaged 16.2 minutes, 5.7 points and 3.7 rebounds per game, shot 57.7 percent from the field.
  • Louisville won the NCAA National Championship his freshman season.

PERSONAL NOTES:

  • Pronounced mon-TREZ (with a silent "L") HAIR-uhl.
  • Son of Samuel and Selena Harrell. Has two younger brothers, Cadarius and Quatauis.
  • Played the 2011-12 season at Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, Va. after previously playing at North Edgecombe High School in Tarboro, N.C.
  • Averaged 25.2 ppg., 13.6 rpg. and 3.0 bpg. for Hargrave, whose only loss came in the National Prep Championship to Brewster Academy (Wolfeboro, N.H.).
  • Dunked 18 times in a single game and finished with 51 points, 17 rebounds and 6 blocks in a 122-119 overtime victory by Hargrave over Fishburne Military School.
  • At North Edgecombe in 2010-11, averaged 16.2 ppg., 12.0 rpg. and 6.7 bpg. as North Edgecombe went 21-3 and won the Tar Roanoke Conference Championship.
  • Named MVP of two postseason all-star games in April following the 2011-12 season: scored 24 points and had 12 rebounds to lead the U.S. All-Stars over the Capital All-Stars at the Capital Classic in Alexandria, Va.; and scored 22 points with 12 boards and seven blocks to lead the East team to victory in a Jordan Brand Classic regional game in Charlotte, N.C.
  • Once shattered a backboard in practice during his final season at North Edgecombe.
