Transferred to Findlay Prep School (Nev.) after playing two seasons for Perry High School (Ariz.), and averaged 18.4 ppg., 2.8 rpg.,
3.3 apg. and 1.5 spg. in helping his team to a 28-2 record and the 2016 DICK’S Sporting Goods High School Nationals.
In his three-year prep career, has played in 86 games, while amassing 2,094 points, 284 rebounds, 239 assists and 133 steals.
As a sophomore in 2014-15, aided Perry High to a 22-7 record and the second round of the Arizona Division 1 State Tournament; averaged 34.4 ppg., 4.2 rpg. and 2.8 apg.
As a freshman in 2013-14, helped Perry High compile a 26-6 record and advance to the state quarterfinals; averaged 23.0 ppg and 3.1 apg.
Led all Arizona high school players in 2014-15 for scoring.
Scored 50 points against Highland High School in January 2015.
Son of Noemi Santana Howard and Clarence ‘Chuck’ DeWitt Howard, has two brothers, Desmond (22) and Jordan (20).
Helped the Perry special-needs team in the first United Sports Basketball Invitational sponsored by the Arizona Interscholastic Association in conjunction with Special Olympics Arizona. He played in two quarters, passed out water when on the bench and connected on three assists to his special needs teammates, but the state’s leading scorer in 2014-15 did not take a shot.
Also played football in elementary school, but did not want to continue playing in middle or high school.
Father was an All-American running back at Indiana University, and aunt, Yolanda Rowe, ran cross country at the University of Houston.
