Recorded a season-high 29 points and 19 rebounds in the National Junior College Athletic Association semifinals. Helped lead Hill to a third-place finish in the NJCAA National Tournament and earned all-tournament honors as well as the Charles Sesher Sportsmanship Award.

Was a four-year letter-winner at Melrose High School (Memphis, Tenn.) and led teams to a 67-38 overall record.
