  • Played on he victorious USA Blue Team (National) in the 2019 USA Blue-USA White exhibition game on Aug. 9 in Las Vegas, recorded 7 points, 4 rebounds and 1 assist in 9.44 of action.
  • Named on June 10, 2019, a member of the 2019 USA Basketball Men's National Team training camp roster that will be used to select the official 12-member 2019 USA World Cup Team.

  • Named the Western Conference Rookie of the Month for games played in October/November 2017. Just the sixth non-lottery pick to win the award in the first month of his career.

  • On Nov. 3, 2017, in his first game as a Laker starter, recorded his first double-double, with 21 points and 13 rebounds, in a win over the Brooklyn Nets.
  • Was the first ever NBA rookie to compile at least 330 points, 120 rebounds, and 30 made three-pointers in his first 20 games.

  • Participated in the 2017 NBA Summer League with the Lzkrtd, recorded averages of 21.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.4 blocks, and 1.1 steals per game and was named to the All-Summer League second team. Was also named the Summer League Championship Game MVP after recording a double-double of 30 points and 10 rebounds in a 110–98 win over the Portland Trail Blazers in the championship match.
  • Drafted in the first round, 27th overall, of the 2017 NBA Draft by Brooklyn. Later that night (June 22, 2017) his draft rights were acquired by the Los Angeles Lakers, along with Brook Lopez, from the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Timofey Mozgov and D'Angelo Russell.

  • As a freshman in 2014-15, played in 31 games, averaged 8.1 minutes, 3.3 ppg. and 1.8 rpg., shot 45.6 percent from the field, 32.4 percent from 3-point and 55.6 percent from the foul line.
  • Redshirted his freshman year (2013-14).


  • Son of Karri Kuzma, a high school shot put champion who attended college on a track scholarship. Has a younger half-brother named Andre and a younger half-sister named Briana.
  • Born in Flint, Michigan. 
  • Attend Bentley High School in Michigan, averaged 17.9 points, 14.4 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 3.4 blocks per game as a junior. 
  • As a high school senior attended Rise Academy in Philadelphia, averaged 22.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game.
  • Graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in sociology.
