USA Basketball Notes

  • Gold Medal: 2019 FIBA U19 World Cup.
  • Honors: Most Valuable Player of the 2019 FIBA U19 World Cup and 2019 FIBA U19 World Cup All-Tournament Team.
  • Member of the 2019 USA Basketball U19 National Team that captured the gold medal with a perfect 7-0 record at the FIBA U19 World Cup in Heraklion, Greece. Played and started in all seven games, averaged 21.1 minutes, and team-highs of 13.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.0 blocked shots a game, and added 1.85 assists a game. Shot 50.0 percent from the field and 70.0 percent from the foul line.
  • Named Most Valuable Player of the 2019 FIBA U19 World Cup.
  • Recorded 28 points and 8 rebounds in win over Russia, 20 points and 6 rebounds versus New Zealand, 14 rebounds and 8 points in semifinals win against Lithuania. 
  • Started and played in the USA's two exhibition games, averaged 19.0 minutes, 8.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and shot 33.3 percent from the field and 58.3 percent from the field.
  • Named to the 2019 USA Men's U19 World Cup Team on June 20.
  • Participated in the 2017 USA Basketball Men’s Junior National Team minicamp. 

College Honors

  • Named to the 2018-19 All-SEC Freshman Team.
  • 2018-19 SEC Freshman of the Week (Feb. 4, 2019 & Feb. 25, 2019).

College Notes

  • Has completed one season at Mississippi State University.
  • As a freshman in 2018-19, Perry averaged 9.7 ppg., 7.2 rpg. and 0.7 bpg, shooting 50.2 percent from the field, 29.6 percent from three-point territory and 71.6 percent at the foul line. 
  • Perry’s 7.2 rebounds per game were tied for eighth overall and tied for first among SEC freshmen.
  • Hauled down a team-leading 89 offensive rebounds and his 2.6 offensive rebounds per game were tops among SEC freshmen and eighth overall.
  • His 25 blocks were third on the team and the eighth-highest total for a MSU freshmen.
  • Upped his averages to 11.2 points, 8.2 rebounds and 0.8 blocks per game in SEC action.
  • The 8.2 rebounds were first among SEC freshmen and rated third overall. 

 

 

 

High School Honors

  • 2018 McDonald’s All-American, recorded 15 points and 7 rebounds.
  • 2018 Georgia Class 2A Player of the Year.

High School Notes

  • Averaged 22.0 ppg. and 12.0 rpg. as a senior at Thomasville High and led his school to its first state title.

Personal Notes

  • His father, Al Perry, is a former MSU great from the 1975-76-77-78 seasons who currently ranks third in program history with 510 assists.
