USA Basketball Notes

  • Started and scored nine points to go with three assists in the 2017 Nike Hoop Summit.
  • Named to 2017 USA Junior National Select Team that will play in the 20th annual Nike Hoop Summit on Feb. 28, 2017.
  • Won gold medals with USA Basketball at the 2015 FIBA Americas U16 Championship and 2016 FIBA U17 World Championship.
  • Started all seven games for the 2016 USA Men’s U17 World Championship team and was second in scoring, averaging 12.7 ppg., 3.9 rpg. and 2.3 spg.; scored a game-high 17 points in the gold medal game against Turkey.
  • Started all five games for the 2015 USA U16 National Team that captured the gold medal at the 2015 FIBA Americas U16 Championship in Bahia Blanca, Argentina; averaged a team-high 16.8 ppg. to go with 2.8 rpg., 1.6 apg. and 1.6 spg., while shooting 50.8 percent from the field (32-63 FGs) and 37.1 percent from 3-point range (13-35 3pt FGs).
  • Matched a USA U16 single-game record with seven made 3-pointers against the Dominican Republic in the 2015 FIBA Americas U16 Championship.
  • Participated in the 2016 and 2015 USA Men’s Junior National Team October minicamp.

  • Signed National Letter of Intent to attend and play for Duke University on Nov. 10, 2016.

  • A four-year varsity athlete at Apple Valley High School (Minn.), after playing varsity in eighth grade.
  • Averaged 26.4 ppg., 5.8 rpg., 2.1 apg. and 1.8 spg. as a junior, helping lead Apple Valley to a 29-2 record and the Minnesota Class 4A semifinals.
  • Averaged 21.5 ppg. as a sophomore in 2014-15 in leading his team to a 30-2 record, the Minnesota 4A state title, and the section and South Suburban Conference championships.
  • Competes in the summer for Howard Pulley (Minn.) in the EYBL.
  • Named to All-EYBL first team in 2016, averaging 22.2 ppg., 6.2 rpg. and 2.2 apg.
  • Scored a season-high 46 points and added nine rebounds against Southern Stampede on May 14, 2016.

  • Son of Natalia Trent, Roxanne Holt and Gary Trent; has three brothers: Garyson, Grayson and Graydon.
  • Father played on the 1993 U.S. Olympic Festival North Team that finished with a 4-0 record and captured the gold medal. He also played baskeball at Ohio, nine years in the NBA for the Portland Trail Blazers, Toronto Raptors, Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves; and also competed in Greece and Italy.
