  • Named a member of the 2014-16 USA Men’s National Team on July 25, 2014.
  • Recorded 10 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal in almost 21 minutes of action for the USA Blue Team in the 2013 USA Basketball Showcase in Las Vegas, Nevada.
  • Named a member of the 2013 USA Men’s National Team mini-camp roster on June 12, 2013.
  • Selected a member of the 2012 USA Basketball Select training against the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team.

  • Played and started 77 games in 2015-16, averaged 36.2 minutes a game (6th in NBA), a career-high 19.9 ppg. (21st in NBA), career-high 4.9 rpg., a career-high 10.2 apg. (3rd in NBA), 1.9 spg. (8th in NBA), shot 42.4 percent from the field, tied a career-high shooting 35.1 from 3-point and 79.1 percent from the foul line. Ranked tied for 15th in the NBA in efficiency (22.5).
  • Had knee surgery on both knees in May 2016. Had a procedure done to excise calcific deposits in his left patella tendon to eliminate pain and help him heal. He also underwent an arthroscopic lavage on his right knee to remove loose bodies.

  • Appeared in 69 games (64 starts) as a rookie, and averaged 16.4 points, 8.3 assists, 4.6 rebounds and 1.8 steals in 37.8 minutes per game. Led all rookies in total assists and steals, and finished second behind Blake Griffin in points per game.
  • Drafted in the first round, No. 1 overall, of the 2010 NBA Draft by Washington. Became an early entry candidate after one collegiate season at the University of Kentucky.

COLLEGIATE NOTES:

  • Played one year at the University of Kentucky and helped lead the 2009-10 Wildcats to a 35-3 record, 14-2 mark and first place finish in the Southeastern Conference and to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament.
  • As a freshman in 2019-10, averaged 16.6 points, 6.5 assists and 1.8 steals in lone season.
  • Set the Kentucky single-game assist record with 16 (11 in the 1st half) in a game versus Hartford (12/29/09).
  • Set a new Kentucky single-season assist record (241).
  • Holds the record for most points in a season by a Kentucky freshman.
  • Was named 2010 Consensus All-America first team.
  • Won the 2009-10 Adolph Rupp National Player of the Year award.
  • Voted as the 2009-10 Southeastern Conference (SEC) Player of the Year and was named 2010 SEC Tournament MVP.
  • Became the first Kentucky player to record double-doubles in both points and rebounds as well as points and assists.
  • Led UK to the Elite Eight in the 2010 NCAA Tournament.
  • Was the first-ever Kentucky player drafted number one overall in the NBA Draft.

  • Raised in Raleigh, North Carolina, by his mother, Frances Pulley. Lost his father, John Wall Sr., to liver cancer at the age of nine.
  • Attended Word of God Christian Academy where he averaged 21.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 9.0 assists as a senior.
  • In 2009, was ranked as the nation’s No. 1 overall high school prospect by Rivals.com.
