  • As a sophomore in 2014-15, led team in field goal percentage (.543) and rebounding (7.6 rpg.) and was second in scoring (11.9 ppg.).
  • Scored career-high 26 points Jan. 10 vs. Arizona.
  • Scored in double figures 23 times, had five games with 20-or-more points; and posted six double-doubles.
  • Scored 14 points and grabbed six rebounds in NCAA first round win; had 17 points, 11 rebounds in 57-54 come-from-behind win in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
  • As a freshman in 2013-14, started in 22 games and was second on the team in field goal percentage (.497) and rebounding (6.4 rpg.) and fourth in scoring (7.6 ppg.). 
  • Notched double-figure scoring 12 times and in rebounds eight times; recorded four double-doubles.
  • Averaged 10.5 ppg. and 9.5 rpg. in two 2014 NCAA Tournament games; had 14 points and nine rebounds in NCAA Tournament win over Vanderbilt; and ended freshman season with seven points and a team-high 10 rebounds vs. Notre Dame in second round of the NCAA

  • Born Sophia Elizabeth Brunner Aug. 30, 1995, in Freeport, Ill.
  • Daughter of Tom and Darcy Brunner; has three siblings: Ellen (19), Gabby (16) and Heath (12).
  • Exploratory major.
  • Hobbies include hanging with friends and family, laying by the pool, snowmobiling and tubing.
  • A 2013 graduate of Aquin High School in Freeport, Illinois.
  • Twice named to the AP’s All-State first team, had her jersey retired at the conclusion of her Aquinl career after leading her team to back-to-back 1A state titles in 2012 and 2013.
  • Set 17 records in Illinois tournament finals play.
  • As a high school senior in 2012-13, averaged 20.6 ppg., 10.6 rpg. and 4.8 apg. in leading Aquin to a 31-3 record and a second-straight 1A state title; scored 33 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in the state final. 
  • As a high school junior in 2011-12, averaged 20 ppg., 11 rpg. and four apg. to help her team to 30 wins and a 1A state championship; averaged 32.0 ppg., 12.0 rpg., 6.0 spg., 3.5 apg. and 2.5 bpg. during the state semifinals and championship game.
