USA Basketball Notes

  • Member of the 2015 USA Basketball Women’s Pan American Games team that captured the silver medal with a 4-1 record at 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada.  

College Highlights:

  • 2015 All-Big East Conference first team.
  • 2015 Philadelphia Big Five Player of the Year.
  • 2014-15 All-Big East preseason first team.
  • 2014 Big East Sixth Man of the Year
  • 2014 All-Philadelphia Big Five second team. 
  • Named Big East Player of the Week on Feb. 3, 2013 and a Big East Honor Roll honoree on Dec. 23, 2012 and Jan. 20, 2013.

College Notes:

  • As a junior in 2014-15, helped Villanova to a 22-14 record, including the WNIT Quarterfinals.
  • As a  sophomore in 2013-14, led the Big East and was second in the country in assist to turnover ratio at 3.83; started four of 32 games and averaged 27.8 mpg. and team second-bests of 10.2 ppg. and 3.6 apg. 
  • Shot 81.7 percent from the foul line, which was third best in the Big East.
  • Scored in double figures in 18 of 32 games.
  • As a freshman in 2012-13, averaged 7.4 ppg., 3.1 rpg. and 2.5 apg. in 21.6 mpg.; missed 11 games due to a hand injury suffered on Jan. 23.
  • Registered seven double-figure scoring games.

Personal Notes:

  • Born on Oct. 27, 1993.
  • Daughter of Chris and Nancy Coyer; has two siblings, including a twin sister, Katherine,who also is a member of the Villanova women's basketball team.
  • Father played football at the University of Minnesota.
  • Brother, Chris, currently is a quarterback at Temple University.
  • Two-time high school All-American and four-time All-District selection at Oakton High School, where she was a three-year team captain.
  • All-time assist leader in Virginia 3A basketball.
  • Second player in Virginia history to register 1,500 points and 500 assists.
  • Her jersey was retired at Oakton, and the jersey currently is hanging in the National Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in Knoxville, Tennessee.
  • Started all four years and helped her team to a 110-5 record, four district titles, three Northern Virginia championships and the 2012 state title.
  • Appeared in Sports Illustrated Faces in the Crowd on Feb. 27, 2012.
  • 2012 AP Ms. Basketball in the state of Virginia. Orlando Sentinel All-Southern first team. 
  • 2011 & 2012 Washington Post All-Metropolitan first team.
  • 2012 Virginia State Coaches Player of the Year and Virginia Gatorade Player of the Year.
  • 2011 & 2012 Northern Virginia Player of the Year and District Player of the Year.
