  • Honors: 2011 FIBA Americas U16 Championship co-MVP.
  • Gold medals: 2012 FIBA U17 World Championship and 2011 FIBA Americas U16 Championship.
  • Announced as a participant at the 2017 USA U23 National Team Training Camp on July 11, 2017.
  • Named to the 2015 USA Basketball Women’s World University Games Team on May 17, 2015.
  • Member of the 2012 USA U17 World Championship Team that captured the gold medal with an 8-0 record in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
  • Helped the U17 squad post a 4-0 record in exhibition play against Brazil, Italy and Spain. 
  • Member of the 2011 USA 3x3 U18 World Championship Team that took home an honorary bronze after an impressive effort in the final day’s games at the inaugural FIBA U18 3x3 World Championship in Rimini, Italy. About one-and-a-half minutes into a semifinal against host Italy, the U.S. squad was reduced to two players and battled into overtime before succumbing by two points. Slated to play Japan in the bronze medal game, the USA was forced to forfeit due to injury and technically finished fourth, however, FIBA recognized the effort with honorary bronze medals.

  • 2015 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Team.

College Notes:

  • As a redshirt freshman in 2014-15, set a Duke freshman record with 72 3-pointers made and attempted a school-record 202 3s.
  • Shot a team-best 78.9 percent from the free throw line.
  • As a freshman in 2013-14, sat out the season coming off a knee injury.

  • Born on Feb. 27, 1995, in Evansville, Indiana.
  • Daughter of Nicole Elder and Neal Greenwell; has three sisters: Rachel Greenwell, Briley Elder and Emma Elder.
  • Sister, Rachel, played basketball at Bellermine University.
  • Attended Owensboro Catholic High School in Owensburg, Ky., where she started playing varsity as a 7th grader in 2007-08 and set school records for single-game points (49) and steals (12).
  •  2011 Class A All-State Tournament.
  • Courier Journal, Herald-Leader and AP All-State first team in 2010 and 2011)
  • Messenger-Inquirer Region 3 Player of the Year in 2010 and 2011 and All-Region 3 in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
  • As a junior in 2011-12, did not play due to a torn ACL suffered during the 2012 FIBA 3x3 Youth World Championship.
  • As a sophomore in 2010-11, averaged 32.6 ppg., 12.0 rpg., 3.6 apg., 3.9 spg. and 1.4 bpg. to help her team to a 27-8 record and a state tournament appearance; recorded her first triple-double and reached 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in 2010-11.
  • Set Class A state tournament records for total points (122) and points in a single-game.
  • As a freshman in 2009-10, started in all 34 games and averaged 26.6 ppg., 10.4 rpg., 3.1 apg., 2.5 spg. and 1.9 bpg. to help her team to a 18-16 record; shot 51.0 percent from the field 34.0 percent from 3-point and 79.0 percent from the line; reached 1,000 points scored in 2009-10.
  • As an 8th grader in 2008-09, started in all 31 games and averaged 18.2 ppg., 8.1 rpg., 3.0 apg., 2.2. spg. and 1.5 bpg. to help her team to a 21-10 record.

Arike Ogunbowale has won five gold medals with USA Basketball (most recently at this past summer’s 2014 FIBA U17 World Championship and Youth Olympic Games).
