  • Gold Medal: 2015 World University Games.
  • Member of the 2015 USA Basketball Women’s World University Games team that captured the gold medal with a perfect 6-0 record at 2015 World University Games in Gwangju, South Korea.

  • 2015 All-Big Ten Conference first team by coaches and second team by media.
  • Three-time Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll (Dec. 30, 2014, Jan. 19, 2015 and Feb. 24, 2015).

College Notes:

  • As a sophomore in 2014-15, started in all games.
  • Had 11th double-double of the year with 14 points, 13 rebounds and 3 blocks in win at Northwestern to finish 18-0 in conference play.
  • Scored nine points to go with seven rebounds and two steals in win over Michigan State in the Big Ten Quarterfinals; added eight points and nine boards in Big Ten Semifinals; and six points with six rebounds in Big Ten Championship game.
  • Finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds in win vs. Princeton in NCAA second round; scored 10 points with 10 rebounds in Sweet 16 win over Duke; scored 14 points, nine rebounds and four blocks to make Spokane All-Region Team and help Terps to second straight Final Four; scored 14 points with four boards and a steal in Final Four game vs. Connecticut.
  • As a freshman in 2013-14, saw action in every game and started in 13.
  • Added eight points with nine boards vs. North Carolina in Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament Quarterfinals.
  • Added six points and five boards vs. Army in the NCAA Tournament first round; pulled down five boards in Elite Eight win.

Personal Notes:

  • Born on Dec. 18, 1995.
  • Daughter of Michael and Sanciarhea Jones; has three siblings,  Jarred, Stephanie and Jordan.
  • Mother played college volleyball at East Texas State, father played college basketball at Hartford and brother, Jarred, plays college basketball at Loyola (Md.).
  • Kinesiology major and wants to be a pediatrician.
  • Tore her right ACL in January of her season season at Aberdeen High School.
  • Averaged 23.5 ppg., 11.6 rebounds and 4.2 bpg.through her junior season.
  • Led team to 3A state championship as a junior.
  • Baltimore Sun All-Metro Player of the Year as a junior.
  • All-Metro first team by The Sun as a sophomore and a junior.
  • In regional championship game her junior year, scored a career-high 40 points.
  • Scored 25 points and 13 rebounds in 2012 state championship victory.
  • Also played volleyball.

Arike Ogunbowale has won five gold medals with USA Basketball (most recently at this past summer’s 2014 FIBA U17 World Championship and Youth Olympic Games). The high school senior from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, who will be a freshman at Notre Dame next year, recently talked about what she's learned playing for USA Basketball and how playing with confidence can raise anyone's game.
