USA Basketball Notes

  • Gold Medal: 2019 Pan American Games 3x3, 2018 FIBA Americas U18 Championship, 2017 FIBA 3x3 U18 World Cup.
  • Silver Medal: 2017 FIBA U19 World Cup.
  • Bronze Medal: 2016 FIBA U17 World Cup.
  • Participated in the 2019 USA National Team's FIBA AmeriCup training camp in Miami, Florida.
  • Member of the 2019 USA 3x3 Pan American Games Team that captured the gold medal with a 7-0 mark at the historic first 3x3 PAGs tournament in Lima, Peru; started four of seven games and averaged 3.3 mpg (the USA's average was 20.6 ppg.).
  • Played for the USA in the FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series Chengdu Stop May 31-June 1, 2019 in Chengdu, China, finished 1-3 and in sixth place; played for the USA in the FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series Turin Stop June 14-15, 2019 in Turin, Italy, finished in third place with a 3-2 record; expected to take part in the FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series Ekaterinburg stop July 9-10 in Ekaterinburg, Russia.
  • Took part in the 2019 Red Bull USA Basketball 3x3 Nationals as a member of the Connecticut team; finished 3-2 and in seventh place.
  • As a member of the 2018 USA U18 National Team, started in four of five games played and averaged 8.4 ppg. and 5.4 rpg. to help the USA to a 6-0 record and a gold medal from Aug. 1-7 in Mexico City; missed one game due to illness.
  • Member of the 2017 USA U19 World Cup Team that finished 6-1 and with the silver medal after losing to Russia by four points in the gold medal game in Udine, Italy; aided the USA squad to a 3-0 exhibition record against U19 teams from Italy, Latvia and Spain.
  • Teamed up with Janelle Bailey, Aquira DeCosta and Destiny Littleton on the 2017 USA Women's 3x3 U18 World Cup Team that earned a gold medal and a 7-0 record at the 2017 FIBA 3x3 U18 World Cup in Chengdu, China. 
  • Also teamed up with Bailey, DeCosta and Littleton to capture the 2017 USA Basketball 3x3 U18 National Tournament title.
  • Member of the 2016 USA Women’s U17 World Cup Team that compiled a 6-1 record and claimed bronze in Zaragoza, Spain; helped the USA earn a 58-46 victory over France in an exhibition game in Anglet, France.
  • Participated in the 2015 USA U16 trials.

  • 2019 American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year.
  • 2019 American Athletic Conference All-Freshman Team.

  • As a freshman at University of Connecticut in 2018-19, averaged 11.7 ppg. and 3.2 rpg. while shooting 49.9 percent from the field.

  • As a junior in 2016-17, averaged 26.0 ppg., 8.8 rpg. and 2.5 spg. to lead the Mustangs to a 29-5 record and the 4A quarterfinals.
  • As a sophomore in 2015-16, averaged 29.3 ppg., 11.0 rpg. and 2.3 spg. to help her team to a 24-14 record and the state tourney title game; had 20 games with 30+ points and three games with 40+ points; averaged 31.0 ppg. in the state tournament.
  • As a freshman in 2014-15, averaged 28.5 ppg. and 10.0 rpg. to help her team to the state tourney quarterfinals; had 36 points and 16 rebounds in first high school game.

  • Brother, Timothy Watson, played baseball at Crowder College; cousin, Will Conroy, played basketball at the University of Washington; cousin, Brittney Dozier, played softball at Texas A&M University; and cousin, Wallace Spearmon, was a track and field 100- and 200-meter specialist who was a two time NCAA outdoor champion, won silver at the 2005 IAAF World Championships of Athletics and was a 2008 and 2012 Olympian. 
  • Uncles, Varick Riddle served in the U.S. Army; uncle, Derek Clemons, served in the U.S. National Guard; and uncle, Floyd Nickelberry, served in the U.S. Air Force.
