FIBA Americas conducted the draw for the 12-nation FIBA AmeriCup 2017 and the USA men were drawn into Group C that will play August 27-29 in in Montevideo, Uruguay.

Leading by only four points with 2:43 left in the game, the USA went on to win the 2017 Nike Hoop Summit by an 11-point margin, 98-87, on April 7 at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon.

USA Basketball will take part in an inaugural U23 Four Nations Tournament this summer in Japan, and selected to lead the 2017 USA Women’s U23 National Team were Jeff Walz (Louisville) as head coach, with Courtney Banghart (Princeton) and Michelle Clark-Heard (Western Kentucky University) assistant coaches.

Carla Berube (Tufts University), has been tabbed head coach of the USA Women’s U16 National Team, and Steve Gomez (Lubbock Christian University) and Vanessa Nygaard (Windward School), complete the staff as USA assistant coaches.

With the goal of providing children a safe and fun environment in which to play basketball, USA Basketball will operate 12 Open Court programs in 2017.
