2022 USA BASKETBALL WOMEN’S U17 WORLD CUP TEAM TRIALS INFORMATION

USA Basketball looks forward to an eventful 2022 with the health and safety of all participants as the foremost goal.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the 2022 USA Women’s U17 National Team trials will be designed similar to last year's U16 trials:

  • Limited number of athletes with approximately 35 players total (20 invited athletes and 15 applicant athletes).
  • All attendees must submit a negative pre-arrival PCR test and a negative PCR test on arrival (details forthcoming).
  • Molecular or antigen testing will be implemented (details forthcoming).
  • Mask wearing requirement when not training.
  • Guests will not be allowed to attend.

USA Basketball health protocols are based on CDC guidelines and will be updated as deemed necessary.

The USA Basketball Developmental National Team Committee is responsible for identifying participants and team selection. The committee will determine approximately 20 athletes to receive an invitation to attend training camp. Those athletes will be sent their invitation by March 28. All interested athletes may apply to attend by submitting an application no later than April 4. Approximately 15 applicant athletes will be included in the trials, as determined by the committee. Athletes will be notified of the committee’s decision to attend trials by April 14.

Trials and training camp are scheduled to occur at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
