Follow Friday: @CoachSPhillips

Every week, USAB.com will join in the popular “Follow Friday” tradition and highlight one of the Twitter accounts we’re following. This week’s pick is @CoachSPhillips – Archbishop Mitty (San Jose, Calif.) High School head coach Sue Phillips.

Phillips, who led the 2014 USA Women’s U17 World Championship Team to gold in the Czech Republic last summer, has shared the USA Basketball Developmental Coach of the Year honors with Don Showalter each of the past two years.

At the same time that she was coaching the U17 squad at the 2014 FIBA U17 World Championship, Phillips was in the middle of earning a master's degree in performance psychology – which explains her penchant for tweeting motivational messages. She is also quick to keep her followers updated on Archbishop Mitty athletics and give shout-outs to her U17 players (as she did below, when five of them were named to the 2015 McDonald’s All-American Game rosters).
