Andre Drummond's Retweeting Frenzy, Love and Appreciation on MLK Day
Check out some of the people and organizations USA Basketball is following with this week’s USA Basketball Social Media Roundup:
In Twitter jail! I'll get to you guys when I get out 😩😩 thank you to all my supporters!! #TeamDreDay
— Andre Drummond (@AndreDrummondd) January 20, 2015
We can’t confirm whether or not “Twitter jail” was self-imposed, but Andre Drummond, gold medalist on the 2014 USA Men’s World Cup Team, was very busy early Tuesday morning. With an eye toward the All-Star Game, the Detroit Pistons center told his followers that he’d retweet anyone who posted a tweet mentioning Drummond with the hashtag #NBABallot. Over the next hour, Drummond retweeted 130 of his followers’ posts.

There was plenty of basketball being played on Martin Luther King Day. There was also plenty of love and appreciation for Martin Luther King Jr. on social media, like this post from 2014 USA Men’s World Cup Team gold medalist Anthony Davis…

… And this one from Jalen Brunson, who helped USA Basketball win gold at the 2014 FIBA Americas Championship. Brunson, a senior at Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, Illinois, has committed to play for Villanova University next season.

Nice shout-out here for James McAdoo, the former University of North Carolina standout who is a three-time USA Basketball gold medalist (2009 FIBA Americas U16 Championship, 2010 FIBA U17 World Championship, 2011 Nike Hoop Summit) and the 2009 USA Basketball Male Athlete of the Year.
Super Bowl 49. Here we come. Go Hawks!
— Anna Wilson (@annaTION5) January 18, 2015
Good news for the girls basketball team at the Collegiate School in Richmond, Virginia: The schedule breaks nicely. With a game on Friday, Jan. 30 and then nothing until Tuesday, Feb. 4, the team’s leading scorer is free to travel guilt-free that weekend. That means Anna Wilson, a gold medalist with USA Basketball’s 2014 U17 World Championship Team, can go to Arizona to support her brother – Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson – who is attempting to win a second consecutive Super Bowl.
Thanks to all the children that came out to participate in arts and crafts with the Lady Tigers!!… http://t.co/pc2IwYABKn

We highlighted ESPN recruiting expert Paul Biancardi in this space last week, but figured he was worth highlighting again since he was nice enough to offer some props for USA Basketball assistant men's national team director BJ Johnson and USA Junior National Team head coach Don Showalter.
