DeMar DeRozan

is the latest member of the 2014 World Cup Team to receive his championship ring. USA Basketball Men’s National Team Assistant Director BJ Johnson presented it to him before the Toronto Raptors’ game against the Knicks on Sunday.

University of South Carolina head coach Dawn Staley -- who served as head coach of the 2014 USA FIBA Americas U18 Championship Team and assistant coach for the 2014 USA World Championship Team – took to Twitter this week in search of transportation for the Gamecocks’ trip to the NCAA Regional Semifinals in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Speaking of the NCAA women’s regionals, Cierra Burdick acknowledged fans who were excited that the University of Tennessee is off to face Gonzaga in Spokane, Washington. That’s a short trip for Burdick, who traveled to Russia last summer for USA Basketball, where she won gold at the 2014 FIBA 3x3 World Championship.

Four-time USA Basketball gold medalist Diamond DeShields, who is headed to Spokane with Burdick and her Tennessee teammates, offered her take on being a role model.

A few days before Duke’s regional semifinal game versus Utah, Duke freshman Jahlil Okafor offered birthday wishes for teammate and fellow USA Basketball alum Quinn Cook.

USA Basketball today announced 40 athletes expected to participate at the 2022 WU17 National Team trials. Trials start May 26 with the 12-member team expected to be announced June 1. The team will compete at the 2022 FIBA Women’s U17 World Cup July 9-17 in Debrecen, Hungary.

Tad Boyle will serve as head coach of the 2022 USA Basketball Men’s U18 National Team, which will compete this summer at the 2022 FIBA U18 Americas Men’s Championship.
