USA head coach Dori Oldaker (Mt. Lebanon H.S., Pa.)

On the game:

We knew it was going to be a tough environment tonight. What a fun environment. You have to be proud of the Mexican fans for the energy they brought, but I’m also proud of how we fought through that and played through that adversity.

I thought we played disciplined. At times we had some mental lapses, but I thought overall, we played four good quarters.

Did you think this was the team’s best game so far?

There is still so much room for improvement. I don’t think we’ve played our best yet.

On playing Brazil in the semifinals:

They are very good. Coming off that loss, they are going to be very motivated.

Destiny Littleton (The Bishop’s School/San Diego, Calif.)

On the game:

It was great. The crowd hyped us up. Our team as a whole did good with the crowd, sticking together and not getting frustrated when it became loud. We made sure everyone was on the same page, first and foremost.

On playing in front of the crowd:
I loved it. It was my first time; I’ve never played in an atmosphere like that before, and it was very enjoyable.

On playing Brazil in the semifinals:

We are very excited to get to the semifinal game. We can’t take anything for granted. We just have to step it up another level.

Did you think this was the team’s best game so far?

I think so. I think the crowd had an impact on that. Since everyone was against, we had something to prove. This atmosphere made us come together more as a team.

Lauryn Miller (Kirkwood H.S./Kirkwood, Mo.)

On the game:

We managed to step up and fight against the crowd. Mexico was very aggressive the entire time, but we managed to rebound and fight through it all.

Did you think this was the team’s best game so far?

We have a lot of places where we can still improve, and I think that is going to hopefully come these next two games. I just think we need to be willing to push. We are getting better each game.

On playing Brazil in the semifinals:

None of us like to lose, and this will be a big motivator for us. Coming into tomorrow, we will have the same energy we had tonight, coming off of playing in front of thiscrowd. We have to win to get the gold that we came down here for.

Valencia Myers (Solon H.S./Solon, Ohio)

On the game:

I think as a team, we came together and blocked out the crowd and just played together. The atmosphere was really crazy, and you couldn’t hear, but we just knew each other and how to run our plays to succeed.

Did you think this was the team’s best game so far?

We can always get better.

Jade Williams (Prestonwood Christian Academy/The Colony, Texas)

On the game:

The environment was definitely insane, but I was really proud of the way that we played. Wedefinitely took the crowd out and just played USA Basketball, the way we know how to play.

We haven’t, in my opinion, gotten to our best level of basketball yet, but we managed to get it together, and I thought we played very well.

On playing in front of the crowd:
It was very enjoyable. Probably one of the most exhilarating experiences I’ve ever had in my life. You have to just have to depend on your teammates and your coaches and be confident in yourself in order to play against that.

On playing Brazil in the semifinals:

I’m excited. I feel like it is going to be a good competition, and I think we are ready for them. It is going to be a good game.
