Dori Oldaker

On the game:

Again, we started off slow, and we don’t want to make that be our ordinary pattern. But to be down seven points and come back – I believe we had an 18-point lead at halftime – I think that is kind of good for us to fight through that adversity. Nobody panicked on our team.

On the USA’s shooting:

We are trying to tell them to get the easy baskets, because we obviously are not shooting well from 3-point range.

Did you see improvement?

I think we are seeing improvement. I think we are seeing them gel as a team. They are looking for each other; they are very unselfish players.

On the fourth quarter:

I was hoping for that a lot earlier in the game. It gave a lot of players the opportunity to play when we had that nice big lead, and it saved some of our starter’s legs.

Jayda Adams

On the game:

I think we started off pretty rough, but we brought it back up with our momentum and just working hard to play really good defense and slow everything down.

I just think as a team we really picked it up and we did what we had to do.

On Honduras:

I think they were a really great team. They made us work hard for every possession. We just pulled away towards the end.

On the USA pulling away:

It was just awesome – making the extra pass, and seeing your teammates score and seeing the bench get really hyped, just getting that feeling. We brought the level up, and we were doing what we know how to do.

I think everyone is doing what they are supposed to do. We are a great team. We just love each other, and we are having a lot of fun.

Desiree Caldwell

On her 10 assists:

The team just moved the ball very well. We pushed the ball up the floor, and my teammates did a great job of getting open.

On playing with some of the best players in the country:

It is so much fun, and it is such a blessing. There is so much talent surrounding me. It’s awesome.

On Honduras:

They came out with a lot of fight, and that really encouraged us to bring more fight, too.

On the USA’s second half:

We started pushing the ball up faster. We started moving it. We started getting steals and talking more. It was really fun. It is a lot of fun when you are winning, you are getting steals and you get to push the ball. And everybody is finishing.

Aquira DeCosta

On the game:

I think as a team we shared the ball. We didn’t aim for just one person to shoot. We passed it around.

On her performance:

The first time that I subbed in, I thought I was a little bit slow and wasn’t up to my expectations. So the next time I came in, I started to get more rebounds and just play hard all-around.

On the USA’s slow start:

I know that we are going to get better throughout each game. We have to start better in the beginning. We need to be mentally focused.

On Honduras:

I was impressed with how they came out. They were trying to start runs with us, but we slowed them down.

Honesty Scott-Grayson

On the USA’s slow start:

What helped us overcome the slow start was just our intensity. We didn’t come out with enough intensity. But after that time out, we got up and we played to the best of our ability.

On Honduras:

They were tough. Their guards were very scrappy, and their bigs were on the boards.

On the USA pulling away late:

It was exciting for us to work the ball around and score. Everybody getting involved, it’s a great feeling.

On playing host Mexico tomorrow:

My thoughts are to just go out, play hard, work together as a team and hopefully we come out with the W. It is going to be a big atmosphere, because everybody will be supporting Mexico.

Bexley Wallace

On the game:

It was a good win. We played as a team. At the end, we really started moving the ball and getting fast breaks.

On the USA’s slow start:

We were struggling. We just need to pick up our defense, and we should be able to get it together.

On pulling away in the second half:

It was really fun in the fourth quarter. We really started playing as a team and moving the ball fast.
