USA head coach Dori Oldaker (Mt. Lebanon H.S., Pa.)
On the game:

We knew it was going to be a tough game. I knew they were going to be prepared for us. I believe we beat them by 12 in exhibition, and I knew it was going to be tougher here.

What did the team do well tonight?
They are a great rebounding team, and we knew we had to beat them on the boards. We talked about blocking out and not trying to out-jump them. We beat them on the boards 53-37. So, I think we somewhat did our job.

On the USA in the fourth quarter:
Our team just really gelled and worked together defensively, really buckled down. And I thought we did a pretty good job getting some good looks towards the end of the game.

What does it mean to reach the semifinals?
Just like going into this game, we talked about it being one game. You can't get to the next game without taking care of this game tonight. So, it’s one game. It is a big deal, but this isn’t our ultimate goal. We have one more to get to where we want to get to.

Samantha Brunelle (William Monroe H.S./Ruckersville, Va.)
On the game:

It was a great game. We were a little slow to start, but as the game went on, we came together, and we fought through it and ended up winning.

On her 3-pointer:
It felt really great. It gave me a boost of confidence, but it also gave my teammates confidence as well. It gave us a boost on the scoreboard as well, so it was all positive.

Did you expect a tough game like this?
I knew it wasn’t going to be easy, because they had already seen what we can do, but it was the same for us. We knew what they could do. It was just about putting in the effort and who could fight the hardest to get the win.

Maya Dodson (St. Francis H.S./Alpharetta, Ga.)
On the game:

We weren’t making inside shots, and they were rebounding over us. But in the second half, we started playing our game.

On the fourth quarter:
We had more energy in the fourth quarter, and we just started to play together and make shots.

How does it feel to reach the semifinals?
It’s a great feeling, but are not done yet, so we are still working.

Destanni Henderson (Fort Myers H.S./Fort Myers, Fla.)
On the game:

We started off kind of sluggish in the first half, but in the second half we started actually getting runs, picking it up more.

On the fourth quarter:
We took good shots in the fourth quarter, so that really helped us a lot.

Did you expect a tough game like this?
Last time we played them, we won by double digits, so I figured they would come out with a fight.

Christyn Williams (Central Arkansas Christian School/Little Rock, Ark.)
On the game:

We really picked it up as a unit tonight. I thought we kept our composure throughout the whole game.

Did you expect a tough game like this?
They weren’t that tough the first time, but they have gotten a lot better. We expected a tough game, so we were ready for it.

How does it feel to reach the semifinals?
It feels great. We have worked so hard, and we still have more games to win.
