USA head coach Dori Oldaker (Mt. Lebanon H.S., Pa.)
What are your thought on the game?
It’s just really hard to lose. Our kids played their hearts out. Our focus now is on the next game, and that is to get a medal. Our focus now is on China.

What do you think the difference in the game tonight was?
Australia did a nice job knocking down shots. They knocked down big shots, they got big rebounds.

Aquira DeCosta (St. Mary's H.S./Stockton, Calif.)
What do you think the difference in the game tonight was?
We didn’t come out with enough intensity. Once we picked up, it was too late.

How does the team respond to this loss?
We are trying to pick each other up now, and trying to win a bronze medal.

Maya Dodson (St. Francis H.S./Alpharetta, Ga.)
What do you think the difference in the game tonight was?

The first half we kind of dug ourselves a hole. We kept pushing, trying to get out. We went on runs, they went on runs, but in the end we weren’t able to come out on top. Some of the second chances they got really hurt us, but I think we tried our best.

How does the team respond to this loss?
Our goal now is to win bronze tomorrow. So, we are going to have to work hard, and hopefully we will get a medal tomorrow.

Olivia Nelson-Ododa (Winder-Barrow H.S./Winder, Ga.)
How do you think the team played tonight?

I think we started out slow. In the second half, we were able to make a few runs. We tried to stay focused and just keep fighting.

What do you think the difference in the game tonight was?
They definitely played great defense. They were able to find their shooters and also get inside baskets.

How does the team respond to this loss?
Our focus is on trying to beat China tomorrow – to come out ready to attack and hopefully go home with a medal.
