On tonight’s game:

I was really pleased with the second half. Our guys showed really good energy to start the second half and throughout the second half when we put different lineups in the game. I thought in the first half we were a little bit sluggish, and guys were just kind of playing to the level of the opponent. We don’t want to do that. We want to play the best we can possibly play. I thought the second half was much more like that. 

Is the team ready for the gold medal game?
We are getting better. It is ready or not here we come, because the game is here, and we are excited to play for the gold medal. Canada Is a good opponent, and I’m looking forward to playing against them.

I think we stepped it up from the Chile game. The Chile game we came out slow, but in this game we attacked them from the very beginning. 

What was the difference in the second half?
In the second half we just kept up our energy. We didn’t let up.

How does it feel to reach the gold medal game?
It feels good. It’s been a dream of mine. I dreamed of playing with USA Basketball, and to get the gold medal would be the icing on the cake.

We came out a little slow. We didn’t do as well at playing with a lot of energy like we need to. But, late in the third quarter, some guys really provided a spark of us and allowed us to get going and really build a lead. 

How does it feel to reach the gold medal game?
It’s amazing. These are the things that you dream about as a kid. Of course, it’s not the same as the National Team, it is a junior national team, but at my level this is the highest you can get, so I’m really proud. Growing up, I never thought I would get here, and now that I’m here, I was trying to make it the gold medal game, and I’ve done it. So hopefully in the future, I can continue to build on this experience. Hopefully I can get the gold tomorrow, and hopefully I can play for USA Basketball again.

How does it feel to reach the gold medal game?
It is a blessing. Not everybody gets to do this, to play for a gold medal. It’s really a blessing.

Exactly what is the 2017 FIBA Americas U16 Championship for Men? How have past USA men's teams fared? Who are some of the stars who have played in past FIBA Americas U16 Championship for Men? Find out here.

FIBA divided the 20 participating teams in the FIBA 3x3 World Cup for Men 2017 into four preliminary round pools, and the USA was placed into Pool D along with Indonesia, Netherlands, New Zealand and South Korea.

The field of teams expected to compete in the 2017 USA Basketball 3x3 National Tournaments, featuring competition divisions for open men, open women, U18 men and U18 women, is nearly complete, with the remaining teams expected to be finalized by March 29.
