The men’s quarterfinals on Sunday will see Group B two-seed New York City (4-1) take on Group A three-seed 3Ball Select (3-2) and Group A two-seed Ariel (4-1) meet Group B three-seed Denver (2-3) at 11:40 a.m. (all times are EDT); while at at 12 p.m., Group A one-seed Harlem (5-0) meets Group B four-seed Hard2Guard (2-3) and the top finisher in Group B 3Ball Premier (5-0) facing Group A four-seed UCCS (2-3).

“We played some games better than others, but we got it done – 5-0, ” said Harlem guard David Seagers (Bronx, N.Y.). “There are two new guys on my team, so we had to get accustomed to the rules and each other. We adapted well, and we won today.

“We’re not champions yet, so we are not where we want to be, but that’s the goal – win the championship,” Seagers added.

3Ball Premier and New York City were tied at 4-0 in Group B before the final game of the day saw 3Ball Premier earn a 21-8 win to claim the top spot.

“We got way better,” said 3Ball Premier guard Stefhon Hannah (Chicago, Ill.), “In the beginning, we were winning by like one point, three points. They were tough games. But we got better, and we played a much tougher team at the end. I think we got adjusted at the right time.

“Our goal is not to lose,” Hannah cotinued. “I think if we keep playing the way that we are playing, playing hard, playing together, it’s going to happen.”

In the women’s tournament on Aug. 28, the morning will start at 12:20 p.m. with quarterfinal games between preliminary round four-seed The Unknown (2-3) and fifth-place Denver (1-4) and third-place Defend (3-2) and sixth-place UCCS (0-5).

“Overall, we did well,” Goodman said. “We just need to clean up some things, we’ll be good to go for tomorrow.

“We are feeling good,” Goodman added. “Feeling good, but not overconfident. We are here for one purpose. We want to represent the United States at the World Championship.”
