Triphahn Center Open Court

USA Basketball Open Court Coming to Triphahn Center in Hoffman Estates, Illinois

  • Date:
    Feb 28, 2018

Beginning on April 8, children who are 6-17 years old in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, will have the opportunity to participate for free in a USA Basketball Open Court – presented by Nike – at the Triphahn Center.

USA Basketball Open Court provides children a safe and fun environment in which to play basketball. Children choose how to engage in the sport through free play, skill games, five-on-five, 3x3 and station options. Sessions are free to the community and open to children of all ability levels.

The USA Basketball Open Court at Triphahn Center will operate on Sundays from April 8 through June 24, with sessions for 6-9 year olds from 9-10 a.m. (all times listed are local, CST), for 10-12 year olds from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. and for 13-17 year olds from 12-2 p.m.

The complete schedule for Triphahn Center is available online, and more information about USA Basketball Open Court can be found at usab.com/youth/open-court-program.

As one of USA Basketball’s youth development initiatives, open court connects children to local facilities, and the free-play setting allows children the opportunity to enjoy basketball in a safe environment while earning prizes for participation. Each open court program is supervised by USA Basketball licensed coaches.

All participants must submit a waiver signed by a parent or guardian before participating in their first session. Waivers are available at the program location.

Open court participants earn points by attending sessions. Also, bonus points may be earned when a player brings a friend, has perfect attendance or makes a social post about their experience. At the end of the 12 sessions, participants can trade in points earned for custom USA Basketball Youth Development and Nike gear. The breakdown of how to earn points can be found online, as can the available prizes.
