Three USA Basketball Youth Regional Camps Set for Los Angeles Area
Three USA Basketball Youth Regional Camps will take place June 15 and 16 at Mamba Sports Academy in Newbury Park, California, including a co-ed USA Basketball Middle School Regional Camp, a USA Basketball Boys High School Regional Camp and a USA Basketball Girls High School Regional Camp.
USA Basketball Youth Regional Camps are open to players of all levels and abilities and emphasize fundamental skill development. Regional camps provide opportunities for young people to improve their individual basketball skills while learning from USA Basketball licensed coaches. Camps include on-court skills training in a fun and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
“USA Basketball Youth Regional Camps are in their sixth year and are a great opportunity for players to learn, develop and enjoy the game through USA Basketball,” said Jay Demings, USA Basketball Youth & Sport Development director. “We’re excited to bring our camp to the Greater Los Angeles region for the first time and can’t wait to provide participants with a memorable experience.”
The co-ed USA Basketball Middle School Regional Camp is open to boys and girls who are 11-13 years old; while the USA Basketball Boys and Girls Regional Camps are open to those who are 14-17 years old.
For each of the three camps, registration is $200. The first 50 registrants will earn a 20% discount of the registration price.
USA Basketball Youth Regional Camp participants are responsible for transportation to and from the gym, lodging, all meals, clothing and basketball shoes, and each participating athlete will be provided with a USA Basketball jersey. Athletes will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
All USA Basketball camps utilize the USA Basketball Player Development Model which consists of four levels of development: Introductory, Foundational, Advanced and Performance.
