USA Roster Announced for FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series Klaipeda Stop

  • Date:
    Jul 22, 2021

Three of the four Force 10 team members who won the 2021 Red Bull USA Basketball 3X Nationals in June will represent the USA at the FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series stop in Klaipeda, Lithuania, on July 30-31.

Playing for the red, white and blue from the Force 10 championship team are Cierra Burdick (Tennessee/Charlotte, N.C.), who was named MVP of the 2021 3X Nationals, Linnae Harper (Ohio State/Chicago, Ill.) and Alexis Peterson (Syracuse/Columbus, Ohio), and the trio is joined by Breanna Richardson (Mississippi State/Conyers, Ga.).

All four are current members of Force 10 3x3, the first U.S. professional 3x3 women’s teams.

While Peterson and Richardson are new to USA Basketball, Burdick has won four international gold medals, and Harper has won two gold, one silver and one bronze medal, and both participated in the 2020 USA 3x3 Olympic Qualifying Team training camp in February 2020 in Chicago.

Burdick won a gold medal at the 2014 FIBA 3x3 World Cup and helped her team capture the tournament title at the 2014 USA Basketball 3x3 National Championship. She also collected gold medals with USA junior national teams at the 2011 FIBA U19 World Cup, 2010 FIBA U17 World Cup and 2009 FIBA Americas U16 Championship.

Harper won a bronze medal at the 2016 FIBA 3x3 World Cup and was MVP after her team won the title at the 2016 USA Basketball 3x3 National Championship. With USA junior national teams, Harper won gold medals at the 2013 FIBA U19 World Cup, 2012 FIBA U17 World Cup, where she was named to the all-tournament team, and the 2011 FIBA Americas U16 Championship, a silver medal at the 2015 Pan American Games and a tournament title at the 2017 U24 Four Nations Tournament.

First launched in 2019, the FIBA Women’s Series has resumed in 2021 after the pandemic prevented the series from being played in 2020.

The FIBA Women’s Series features tournaments for professional women’s 3x3 teams, with prize money available to winning teams.

In addition to Klaipeda, a U.S. team is expected to play in the FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series in Constanta, Romania (Aug. 14-15).

In 2021, the FIBA Women’s Series has featured stops in Mies, Switzerland (May 15-16); Voiron, France (May 21-22); and Poitiers, France (June 29-30), which already have been played.
