Recap

Allisha Gray (Dallas Wings/South Carolina/Sandersville, Ga.)
What do you think Japan did well today?

They just played hard, and that's really all I can say.

Does the USA just move on to the semifinals and worry about the next game?
Yeah, for sure. The game is done. It doesn't hurt us, and we're glad something like this happened earlier instead of in semifinals when you don't get another chance. So, it was good to get that loss out of the way, and we'll be prepared for the semifinals.

Kelsey Plum (Las Vegas Aces/Washington/Poway, Calif.)
On the game against Japan:

To be honest, this is tough. We clinched first, and it's hard to get up for that game. They played really well. They hit big shots.

Does the USA just let this one go and move on to semifinals?
I think we have to learn from it, and just refocus and get better for tomorrow.

Jackie Young (Las Vegas Aces/Notre Dame/Princeton, Ind.)
What was the USA trying to do against Japan?
We knew their guards were quick. We were just trying to get in front of them and stop them from getting easy layups. That was probably the biggest thing.
