USA Roster Named for Sept. 3-4 FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series Montreal Stop

The USA will be represented at the FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series stop in Montreal on Sept. 3-4 by experienced USA 3x3 athletes Jordan Reynolds (Tennessee/Portland, Ore.), Breanna Richardson (Mississippi State/Conyers, Ga.) and Hailey Van Lith (Louisville/Wenatchee, Wash.) along with USA Basketball newcomer Camille Zimmerman (Columbia/Mesa, Ariz.).

Playing in group A, the USA on Sept. 3 will play Germany at 1:50 p.m. (all times listed are EDT), Austria at 3 p.m. and Netherlands at 5:50 p.m.

After each team plays the three other teams in its pool, the top team from each group advances directly to the Sept. 4 semifinals. The second and third place teams will play in a quarterfinal game, with those winners meeting the No. 1 seeds in the semifinals.

USA teams also participated in the FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series Constanta stop that was played Aug. 14-15 and won the Klaipeda stop that was played July 30-31.

The USA is hoping to earn an invitation to the 2021 FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series Final, which will be played on Sept. 18-19 in Bucharest. The host nation of Romania and the top seven teams in the FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series season standings will earn an invitation to the event.

Reynolds and Richardson recently competed for USA Basketball in the FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series Constanta stop, going 2-2 and losing in the semifinals, while Richardson went 5-0 with the USA and won the FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series Klaipeda stop.

Reynolds, Richardson and Zimmerman are current members of Force 10 3x3, the first professional 3x3 women’s basketball teams in the United States.

Reynolds participated in trials for two USA Basketball five-on-five junior national teams, including the 2011 USA U16 National Team and the 2013 USA U19 World Cup Team. Reynolds was drafted No. 19 by the Atlanta Dream in 2017. She played four years at the University of Tennessee (2013-14 to 2016-17) and was named to the 2015 All-Southeastern Conference Tournament Team.

Richardson played four seasons at Mississippi State University (2013-14 to 2016-17), where she set the program record for career games played (143) and as a senior played in the NCAA National Championship game.

Van Lith recently played for the USA at the FIBA 3x3 U23 Nations League at stops four, five and six on Aug. 2, 3, 4 in Voiron, France. Van Lith has four gold medals with USA Basketball, including 3x3 gold at the 2019 FIBA 3x3 U18 World Cup, where she was named MVP, and at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games. She owns USA five-on-five gold medals from the 2019 FIBA U19 World Cup and 2018 FIBA U17 World Cup.

Van Lith participated in the 2019 USA Basketball 3x3 U18 National Championship, finishing second, and in the 2018 USA Basketball 3x3 U18 National Championship, where her team won the title. She also attended trials for the 2021 USA AmeriCup Team.

Van Lith is entering her sophomore year at the University of Louisville. In 2020-21, she helped her team to the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight and was named to the 2021 Atlantic Coast Conference All-Freshman Team and 2021 ACC All-Tournament first team.

Zimmerman played four seasons at Columbia University (2014-15 to 2017-18), where she was named 2017 and 2018 All-Ivy League first team and led the Ivy League in scoring and rebounding in 2016-17 (22.5 ppg. and 9.6 rp.g) and 2017-18 (19.5 ppg. and 10. 2 rpg.).

Zimmerman plays professionally in Switzerland for Troistorrents. She also played in Finland and Sweden.

USA Basketball today announced 40 athletes expected to participate at the 2022 WU17 National Team trials. Trials start May 26 with the 12-member team expected to be announced June 1. The team will compete at the 2022 FIBA Women’s U17 World Cup July 9-17 in Debrecen, Hungary.
