USA Basketball Women in the Game Conference Set for March 31 in Minneapolis
USA Basketball will conduct a Women in the Game conference from 1-5 p.m. (CST) on Thursday, March 31, at the Hyatt Regency in Minneapolis.
Launched in 2017, the USA Basketball Women in the Game conference educates high school girls, college women and young professionals on career paths in the sports industry and how to turn their passion into an opportunity. Guest presenters from a variety of career fields share their personal career journeys, discuss the essential characteristics to succeed in their roles and provide practical strategies to get started and sustain success in the highly competitive sports industry.
Registration is $55 and is available online. Each attendee will receive a USA Basketball gift. Scheduled to speak at the event are:
- Anne Doepner, Director of Inclusion and Employee Investment, Minnesota Vikings
- Jenny Johnston, Manager of Community Programs, USA Basketball
- Cheryl Reeve, Head Coach, 2022-24 USA Basketball Women’s National Team & Minnesota Lynx
- Dr. Ashley Zapata, Sports Psychologist, Minnesota Timberwolves & Lynx, University of Minnesota, Premier Sport Psychology
Additional speakers are expected to be added to the lineup.
Attendees will have networking opportunities with one another and the speakers. Participants will be required to wear masks and will be physically distanced. In addition to speaker-led sessions, attendees will engage in a discussion and workshop focused on professional development and leadership training.
