USA Basketball Announces the Return of the Open Court Program

  • Date:
    Jun 27, 2022

USA Basketball will operate eight Open Court programs, presented by Nike, in 2022, with the first two locations starting in July.

Open Court will kick off on July 1 at the Haverford Area YMCA in Havertown, Pennsylvania, and on July 5 at the Jerry Gamble Boys and Girls Club in Minneapolis.

The goal of USA Basketball’s Open Court program, which operates for 10 weeks in each city, is to connect children to the game of basketball in their communities by offering the opportunity to play for free in a fun, safe and developmentally appropriate environment.

Children choose how to engage in the sport through free play, skill games, five-on-five, 3x3 and station options during their designated age-based time slots. All programs are operated by USA Basketball licensed coaches.

The specific schedules for the Haverford Area YMCA and Jerry Gamble Boys and Girls Club Open Courts are available below and online through the USA Basketball Open Court program.

Pre-registration is not required, and sessions are free to the community and open to all ability levels. A parent or guardian will need to sign a waiver for their child onsite prior to the first session participation.

Children will earn USA Basketball and Nike prize items for participating in Open Court sessions. For more information on program offerings and incentives, click here.

USA Basketball Open Courts operate with sessions for three age groups: 6-9, 10-12 and 13-17.
