USA Basketball Announces 2022 FIBA 3x3 World Cup Rosters
USA Basketball announced today the rosters for the 2022 USA Basketball Men’s and Women’s 3x3 National Teams. The teams will compete June 21-26 at the 2022 FIBA 3x3 World Cup in Antwerp, Belgium.
The teams were selected by the USA Basketball 3x3 National Team Selection Committee (men’s and women’s, respectively).
For the USA men, Kidani Brutus, Khalil Iverson, Dominique Jones and James Parrott comprise the roster.
As members of Team Harlem, Brutus and Jones won the 2022 Red Bull USA Basketball 3X Nationals championship last month. Brutus has extensive 3x3 experience with Team Harlem, including winning the 2021 Red Bull USA Basketball 3x East Regional. Brutus attended the 2020 USA Basketball 3x3 Olympic Qualifying Tournament training camp.
Jones, the Finals MVP at the recent 3X Nationals, is a veteran of USA Basketball 3x3. A gold medal at the 2019 Pan American Games 3x3 highlights his resume that includes the 2021 FIBA 3x3 Olympic Qualifying Tournament and numerous 3X Nationals and FIBA 3x3 events.
Iverson competed at the recent Red Bull USA Basketball 3X Nationals for The Four Friends. He will make his USA Basketball 3x3 debut as he has been playing professionally internationally and in the NBA G League since graduating from the University of Wisconsin in 2019.
Parrott is making his first appearance with USA Basketball 3x3. He was a member of the third-place finishing 3Ball Nebraska at the 2022 3X Nationals and previously competed at the 2021 Red Bull 3X USA Basketball South Regional.
Joe Lewandowski, who has been coaching and advising the USA Basketball 3x3 program since 2014, will serve as head coach for the men. Lewandowski is also active with USA Basketball’s youth development programs.
The USA Men’s 3x3 World Cup Team begins pool play on June 21 with matchups against Austria and Slovenia.
The USA women’s roster includes Cierra Burdick, Lauren Cox, Ashley Joens and Hailey Van Lith.
Burdick, a 2015 University of Tennessee graduate, has been a member of several USA Basketball teams (five-on-five and 3x3) since 2009. Most recently, she won a gold medal at the 2021 3x3 AmeriCup. She also owns gold medals from the 2014 FIBA 3x3 World Cup, 2011 FIBA U19 World Cup, 2010 FIBA U17 World Cup and 2009 FIBA Americas U16 Championship.
Cox will make her USA Basketball 3x3 debut, having previously won gold medals at the 2015 FIBA U19 World Championship, 2014 FIBA U17 World Championship and 2013 FIBA U16 Americas Championship. Cox played four years at Baylor University (2016-20).
Joens recently played with Iowa State at the 2022 3X Nationals. In five-on-five, she won gold medals at the 2019 FIBA U19 World Cup and 2018 FIBA U18 Americas Championship. Joens will play a fifth collegiate season with the Cyclones next year.
Van Lith is the 2019 FIBA 3x3 U18 World Cup MVP after earning a gold medal. In five-on-five, Van Lith, who recently completed her sophomore season at Louisville, won gold at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games and 2018 FIBA U17 World Cup.
Kara Lawson, the 2021 USA Basketball 3x3 Coach of the Year, will be the head coach for the women. The Duke University women’s head coach has led USA Basketball 3x3 to seven gold medals since 2017, including at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
The USA Women’s 3x3 World Cup Team begins pool play on June 22 with games against New Zealand and Austria.

The seventh edition of the 3x3 World Cup will be played at Groenplaats in Antwerp’s city center. The U.S. men are the defending gold medalists. The USA women won the gold in 2012 and 2014.
Different than five-on-five, 3x3 is played on a half-court with a 10-minute game clock and 12-second shot clock. Play is continuous, as teams “clear” the ball behind the 2-point line following a made basket, defensive rebound or steal. The first team to score 21 points via 1-point field goals or 2-pointers behind the arc is victorious; or if time expires then the team leading wins.
