USA Basketball Women in the Game Set for Sept. 10 in Las Vegas
USA Basketball announced today it will conduct a Women in the Game conference from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. PDT on Saturday, Sept. 10, at Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas. For more information, click here.
Launched in 2017, Women in the Game educates high school girls, college women and young professionals on career paths in the sports industry and how to turn their passion into opportunity. Guest presenters from a variety of career fields will share their personal career journeys, discuss the essential characteristics to succeed in their roles, and provide practical strategies to get started and sustain success in the highly competitive sports industry.
Registration is $75 and is available online. Each attendee will receive a ticket to the USA Basketball Showcase Presented by Coinbase directly following the conference, as well as breakfast and lunch and USA Basketball gift items. Highlighting athletes participating in the 2022 USA Women’s National Team training camp, the Showcase is a Red-White intrasquad game featuring some of women’s basketball’s best talent. Scheduled to speak at the event are:
- Kara Lawson, 2022 USA Basketball Women’s National Team assistant coach and Duke University women’s basketball head coach
- Dr. Heather Linden, director of physical therapy, UFC Performance Institute
Additional speakers will be added to the lineup.
Attendees will also be eligible to apply to the USA Basketball Women in the Game mentorship program, which aims to connect conference attendees (mentees) with experienced professionals in the sports industry (mentors) to develop personal and professional goals, gain new perspectives and help advance current or future career goals.
