United States Fall in Semifinals at FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series Final
The United States went undefeated in pool play before falling to France in the semifinals on Sunday at the FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series Final in Constanta, Romania.
After a 2-0 pool play start on Saturday, the United States bested Germany 21-13 on Sunday morning to earn a bye to the semifinal round. USA led wire to wire, powered by Lauren Cox’s 12 points and five rebounds.
In the semifinals, France topped the United States in a close, physical battle, 21-18. After trailing for nearly the entire game, USA evened the score at 13 with two minutes remaining. France hit a two-pointer to go up three with one minute remaining, and then held of the United States’ comeback attempt in the game’s final minute to secure its spot in the final.

Breanna Richardson led the United States in points with six, and Cierra Burdick pulled down a team-high six rebounds.
