USA Basketball Launches 2022-23 Coach License Season

  • Date:
    Oct 14, 2022

USA Basketball launched the 2022-23 coach license season, which will run through Sept. 30, 2023. To begin the licensing process, coaches should visit www.community.usab.com.

The USA Basketball Gold Coach License enables coaches to affiliate with USA Basketball, the national governing body for the sport of basketball in the United States, and to join an inclusive community of committed and credible coaches. License holders have access to online education resources, coach liability insurance, safety training and more.

Additionally, all coaches and event operators participating in NCAA certified basketball events must obtain a USA Basketball Gold Coach License.

“Coaches are an important cornerstone of our sport,” USA Basketball CEO Jim Tooley said. “The USA Basketball Coach License gives coaches the tools to develop players on and off the court and continue to grow the sport of basketball in a meaningful way across the country.”

USA Basketball has issued more than 115,000 coach licenses since the program started in 2015.

The license operates on a static calendar year of Oct. 1, 2022–Sept. 29, 2023, and requires passing a USA Basketball background screen and the completion of two online education courses.

Through Dec. 31, 2022, a gold domestic license is $58 and a gold international license is $77.
