Michael Brooks Joins USA Basketball Men’s National Team Staff
Brooks is replacing B.J. Domingo, who joined the Portland Trail Blazers as Director of Player Personnel in November.
“We are very excited to welcome Michael to the Men’s National Team,” Men’s National Team Director Sean Ford said. “He brings an incredible amount of experience and knowledge to the position, including as a support staff member for multiple national team camps and competitions at the beginning of his career.”
Brooks will assist the USA Basketball Men’s National Team in all facets, with his primary focus being the USA Basketball Men's Junior National Team program. He will coordinate the participation of athletes and staff for the men's junior team minicamps and international competitions, as well as assist in the implementation of the health, wellness and life skills components of the men’s JNT program
“I look forward to working alongside the talented staff at USA Basketball to deliver a team-first environment and winning mentality to the USA Basketball athletes,” Brooks said. “There is no greater privilege than the opportunity to impact others and to be a part of something bigger than yourself. Throughout my career, I've learned the importance of empowering others, working hard and caring about people, and I look forward to using those qualities in my role with USA Basketball.”
Brooks joins USA Basketball with experience at both the collegiate and professional levels. After serving as a student manager at the University of Louisville, he was a graduate assistant for Florida State University. After Florida State, Brooks served as a basketball operations assistant with the Brooklyn Nets. Since 2018, Brooks worked in basketball operations and scouting for the Orlando Magic. Brooks has also served on the support staff for multiple USA Basketball camps and teams since 2015.
Brooks earned a bachelor’s degree in sport administration from the University of Louisville in 2016.
