USA Basketball to Host 2023 U.S. Open Basketball Championships with Qualifier Pathway
USA Basketball will host the 2023 U.S. Open Basketball Championships in two phases, designated by age group, this summer.
The 12U, 13U and 8th grade boy’s and girl’s divisions of the U.S. Open Basketball Championships will be held June 23-25, 2023, at the Rock Hill Sports & Events Center in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Registration is open on a first-come, first-served basis here.
Additionally, the 9th and 10th grade divisions of the U.S. Open Basketball Championships will be contested in conjunction with the NCAA College Basketball Academy from July 24-31, 2023 at the Memphis Sports & Events Center. Teams must earn bids to the 9th and 10th grade divisions by placing in an Official Qualifier or receiving a limited wildcard invitation. Twenty-four teams in each age group and gender will qualify for pool and bracket play competition to ultimately crown a national champion. The qualifiers kick off with the Boo Williams Easter Invitational from April 8-9 in Hampton, Virginia, and will run through June.
The U.S. Open Basketball Championships are a USA Basketball youth initiative intended to add opportunity, standards and quality to the youth basketball environment. The U.S. Open Championships are played according to the USA Basketball Youth Development Guidelines.
