Shop NowA biennial event launched in 2009 and open to athletes 16 years old or younger, the FIBA Americas U16 Championship features eight national teams from North, South and Central America and the Caribbean. The top four finishing teams at the FIBA Americas U16 Championship qualify for the following year's FIBA U17 World Cup. USA Basketball has claimed the gold medal in 2009, 2011, 2013, 2017, 2018 and 2021 and the bronze medal in 2015, and is now 36-1 in FIBA Americas U16 Championship action. The next FIBA Americas U16 Championship will be held in 2023.
The 2019 USA U16 National Team averaged 103.0 points a game, limited opponents to 32.5 ppg., and its 70.5 point average margin of victory was the of any USA women’s U16 team.
