Important: If you live in a county that charges extra fees to process background checks, you will be charged separately for those fees by Sterling Volunteers in order to process your background check.
Step 1: Select COACH REGISTRATION, create your account and select your license type at community.usab.com.
Step 2: On your dashboard, select BACKGROUND SCREENING to begin your check through our screening partner Sterling Volunteers.
Step 3: On your dashboard, select CONTINUE under COURSES and complete the required courses in your account.
Once your background screen is clear and you have completed your courses, you will become automatically licensed for the season and receive the benefits associated with your license level.
If you are participating in or operating a NCAA certified event, there is an additional requirement.
Step 4: NCAA Basketball Certification System (BBCS) requirements: You will also need to complete steps required by the ECAG in the BBCS including event/league applications, coach registration, and roster submissions. The USA Basketball Coach License expires on August 31 each season.
