Usage of USA Basketball Youth Development Accreditation Marks

USAGE GUIDELINES

Approved marks and logos may only be used by accredited organizations in good standing. Good standing is defined as meeting all requirements to become accredited, and sustaining accreditation for the duration of the season.

The name or logo of the accredited organization must always appear next to the approved USA Basketball Youth Development marks and logos. In addition, the name or logo of the accredited organization must always be larger in size than the USA Basketball Youth Development marks and logos.

If at any time you are in question about the usage of any USA Basketball approved marks or logos, please reach out to USA Basketball for further guidance.

PERMITTED USES:

Accredited organizations ARE permitted to do the following by USA Basketball and USA Basketball Youth Development:

Usage of “Official Youth Organization” Seal

Accredited organizations truthfully may promote their status by using the “Official Youth Organization” seal provided to them by USA Basketball in their digital resources folder.

Approved seals and marks must always be used and placed in an easily removable fashion should the accreditation status change or be revoked.

Declaring Status as “An Official USA Basketball Youth Development Organization"

Accredited Organizations may make this statement in printed material or on digital platforms.

Promotions

USA Basketball Youth Development Accreditation Marks may be used for commercial purposes solely to promote the organization. All other commercial uses, including on any product, are prohibited.

Event Promotion

USA Basketball Youth Development Accreditation Marks may be used to promote that an event is being run by “An Official USA Basketball Youth Development Organization.”

Seals and marks may be used as follows:

    a. On printed platforms including banners, posters, direct mail, flyers, and stationery.

    b. On digital platforms including websites, social media, and related channels.

PROHIBITED USES:

Accredited organizations are NOT permitted to do the following by USA Basketball and USA Basketball Youth Development:

USA Basketball or USA Basketball Youth Development Logos

Using any seals or marks besides the “Official Youth Development Organization” seal or the “Official USA Basketball Youth Development Organization” declaration.

Uniforms, Apparel, & Footwear

Using USA Basketball marks or seals on apparel, uniforms, footwear, or any other product, whether commercial, licensed or distributed for free.

Marketing as USA Basketball

Stating, implying or promoting that an accredited organization’s event is run by USA Basketball or is a USA Basketball event, or is endorsed or sponsored by USA Basketball, including online, social media and offline promotional materials.

Adopting USA Basketball or USA Basketball Youth Development Logos & Names

Using any USA Basketball or USA Basketball Youth Development names, marks or logos as all or part of an organization’s official, unofficial or legal name(s), or in such an entity’s logos, trademarks or trade dress.

Endorsements

Referencing USA Basketball or any seals or marks to imply that a product or service is endorsed, sponsored or preferred by USA Basketball.
