The USA Basketball Coach Academy - presented by Nike - is designed to provide coaches with valuable insight and education on how to teach the game of basketball to young people, as well as how to implement fun, safe and feasible programming throughout various organizations (i.e. schools, recreation centers, clubs and leagues). The coach academy is presented in a multi–day format with presentations led by USA Basketball staff and guest speakers in coaching and leadership positions.  Attendees experience networking opportunities to meet and socialize with one another as well as with speakers. In addition, USA Basketball and Nike gift items will be provided to all registered attendees.

Coaches learn the USA Basketball curriculum to impart a proper skill development path while teaching the game to players of all ages and ability levels. Additionally, guest speakers will focus on areas of expertise and deliver sessions on best practices among coaches and administrators both on and off the court.

Sessions at the USA Basketball Coach Academy feature a variety of styles of teaching including: player demonstrations, lectures, panel discussions, on court basketball instruction and off court coaching techniques and life skills training. During breakouts, coaches have a choice of sessions to attend based on which topics most interest them and best suit their program or team needs. All options will offer comprehensive education, taught either on or off the court.
